Established by pub owner and self-taught homebrewer John Gibson in 1992, Devon Ales is the oldest operating brewery in Clackmannanshire. Named after the local miners from the Devon colliery who helped test early pints, the five-barrel plant now brews four beers for consumption at the Mansefield Arms, sister pub the Inn at Muckhart and at beer festivals. These include two session ales, Devon Original 70/- and Chopper's Choice; Devon Pride, 4.8% 90/- and Devon Thick Black, a Scottish stout.
